Suit Care Guide
Protect your investment. Follow these expert care tips to keep your bespoke garments looking impeccable for years.
01
Daily Care
- Brush your suit with a natural-bristle garment brush after every wear to remove dust and surface dirt.
- Empty all pockets before hanging to prevent stretching and distortion.
- Hang on a wide, contoured wooden hanger that matches your shoulder width.
- Allow at least 24 hours between wears to let the fabric recover its shape and release moisture.
02
Storage
- Store in a breathable garment bag—never plastic, which traps moisture and can cause mildew.
- Use cedar blocks or lavender sachets to deter moths naturally, avoiding mothballs which leave odor.
- Keep your closet well-ventilated with adequate spacing between garments.
- For long-term storage, ensure garments are clean and fully dry before bagging.
03
Cleaning
- Dry clean sparingly—no more than 2–3 times per year. Over-cleaning breaks down fibers.
- Spot-clean minor stains immediately with a damp cloth and gentle blotting.
- Steam rather than iron to remove wrinkles. If you must press, use a pressing cloth between the iron and fabric.
- For perspiration, hang the suit in a steamy bathroom to help release odors naturally.
04
Travel
- Use a proper suit carrier or garment bag when traveling—never fold a suit into a regular suitcase.
- For car travel, hang your suit from the grab handle to minimize creasing.
- Pack a portable garment steamer for touch-ups at your destination.
- If folding is unavoidable, turn the jacket inside out and fold along the natural shoulder seam.
05
Seasonal Maintenance
- Rotate your suits seasonally—store winter-weight suits during summer and vice versa.
- Inspect seams, buttons, and linings at the start of each season and address any issues early.
- Re-press trouser creases at the start of each wearing season.
- Schedule an annual check-up at our Raleigh showroom for professional pressing and minor repairs.
